Larry Gene Samuel, 86, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, dedication, and deep love for his family and community.

Larry built a successful career in the food distribution industry, most notably as Owner of Missouri Purveyors in Columbia. He also served in sales and marketing roles with Koncen Food Company, Swift and Company, and the Missouri Department of Agriculture. After retiring, Larry enjoyed home remodeling and maintenance projects alongside his sons. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. On April 15, 1967, Larry married the love of his life, Elaine. He was a devoted husband and father to Cyndi Michell Bluhm (Brian), Michael Samuel (Tawnya), and Matthew Samuel (deceased). He was a proud grandfather to Carly, Collin, and Carson Samuel; Jaime Berry (Ryan); Claire and Gavin Bluhm; and great-grandchildren Bella and Brynn Berry.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Elro and Lois (Crane); his son, Matthew; and his sister, Linda. He is survived by his siblings, Tommy and Jerry.

He will be remembered for his motivational spirit, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. The family extends a special thank you to Compassus and Right at Home for the excellent care Larry received.
